Current Firework Status in Walt Disney World

“But there are no fireworks!” has been a frequent complaint across the social media world and real-life world when planning a potential trip to Walt Disney World gets discussed. It seems no one can imagine the Most Magical Place on Earth without nightly fireworks, which is fair. Part of Disney’s magic is that every day feels like the most special day of the year.

Fireworks have officially been scheduled to return to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot on July 1st, 2021. Both will bring back the firework shows that existed before the pandemic, with Magic Kingdom bringing back Happily Ever After, and Epcot bringing back Epcot Forever (until the new show Harmonious is ready, hopefully this Fall). There has been no announcement about the return of fireworks in Hollywood Studios. As always, there are no fireworks in Animal Kingdom.

As of now, Happily Ever After (and 18 minute firework show celebrating various Princess stories, including projections on the castle) will be every night at 9:15 in Magic Kingdom. Epcot Forever will be every night at 10pm. Always keep an eye on the entertainment schedule for the dates of your trip though, because times are subject to change.

Epcot Forever can be watched in the World Showcase section of Epcot, around the lagoon. You can stand/sit anywhere around the whole lagoon and have a good view. You’ll also be able to see some of the fireworks if you are staying in the Epcot Resort area (Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, or Riviera), but you won’t be able to see all of the activity on the water itself .

I personally can’t wait for them to announce the return of Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios, as that is my favorite night time show, but I’m sure they have quite a process cut out for them in rehiring/training the extensive cast of performers involved in that one.
